Music Curriculum

Our Music curriculum intends to provide students with the opportunity & skillset to pursue Music beyond KS4, ensuring that a career in the creative industries
is accessible to all.

The course is designed to equip all students with the knowledge and skills to become confident performers and it teaches transferrable skills such as
resilience, self-motivation, good communication, effective teamwork and a positive Growth Mind-set.

The aim is to encourage progression onto KS5 courses in Music, whether it be specialised A-level or industry based Level 3 BTEC’s.

Lessons will inspire all students to listen, engage with and enjoy a range of various musical styles.

The Music curriculum provides a solid foundation for further studies and students will be able to show self-motivation and team working skills as a result
of being taught Music.

Through various successful performances, students will have a direct impact on our local community and their engagement in the Arts helping with the
wellbeing of fellow students, staff, parents/carers and residents of South Ribble and beyond.

Students will be able to go out into the world of work with a nationally recognised qualification (GCSE or BTEC) and the attributes, experience and the
knowledge to be successful in their future career pathway.
