Triple Science

Our Science curriculum intends to teach Science in a context that will stimulate student’s curiosity about the ‘physical’ and ‘natural world’ around them, and
to teach the ‘wider meaning’ with the aim of inspiring a future generation of Scientists. 


We believe that students deserve a broad and ambitious Science curriculum, rich in skills and knowledge, which will prepare them well for future learning
or employment. Our Science curriculum will develop student’s ability to seek patterns, to make sense and order of the world around us and will allow
students to identify key ideas and concepts to help embed learning.

In Science it is our intention to develop a student’s practical skills as well as scientific and mathematical reasoning throughout the key stages and apply
knowledge in unfamiliar contexts.

The GCSE courses offered aim to encourage progression onto a more specialised Level 3 vocational or academic course or into an apprenticeship.

Overall, our course has been developed so students are encouraged to understand how science can be used to explain what is occurring, predict how things
will behave, analyse causes, stimulate creativity and problem solve all skills relevant to science and the real world.


The impact of our curriculum is that we aim for our students to achieve their full potential in science and marvel at the awe and wonder of how science
emulates throughout every aspect of our daily lives. We want to provide a solid foundation for further studies and for students to think critically, ask questions
and use their metacognitive learning skills. They will be able to transfer their skills and as resilient learners will use acquired knowledge in everyday life situations.

We want our students to persevere and embrace challenge and be able to go out into the world of work with a nationally recognised qualification which will
allow them to be successful in their future career pathway.
