Welcome to Lostock Hall Academy

I am delighted and proud to introduce you to Lostock Hall Academy.

We are a popular, friendly and caring, mixed 11-16 community school, located in a pleasant, residential area close to Preston. Ours is a relatively small secondary school which converted to Academy status in August 2011.

We are frequently praised for the very positive ethos at Lostock Hall Academy. We have a clear discipline policy which is applied fairly and consistently. As a result our pupils are very well-behaved and incidences of bullying and exclusions are extremely rare. Our pupils are proud of their school and they feel safe.

After a dip in our examination results in 2012, we are pleased to say that results improved in summer 2013 and 2014 with 60% of pupils achieving 5A*-C grades including English and Maths. 73% of pupils achieved A*-C in English and 69% A*-C in Maths.

Our staff are very well-qualified and they are all prepared to go the extra mile to help the children. Pupils are provided with numerous opportunities to broaden their horizons through a wide variety of extra-curricular activities, such as trips abroad, sporting and performing arts activities, theatre, museum and gallery visits.

Over the last two years we have been fortunate to receive a considerable amount of capital funding from the Department for Education. This funding has enabled us to refurbish two of our teaching blocks and also to replace several flat roofs. We are currently bidding for further funding to refurbish other areas in school.

The best aspect of Lostock Hall Academy is undoubtedly our children. They are smart, polite, caring, and respectful of their teachers and each other and have very positive attitudes to learning.

The best way to experience what I have just described is to come and visit us during a normal working day. If you would like to do so, please contact me at school and I will arrange for you to have a tour around the school with some of our pupils.
